Who is The HARDWAY CONNECTION?

There is an exciting new variation of “oldies but goodies” melodies sweeping the land. It is a blues and rhythm and blues sound counterpointed by a thread of family values and tradition. It is the smooth, passionate, sometimes funky and extremely “tight” sound of The HARDWAY CONNECTION; evoking feelings of nostalgia and an undeniable compulsion to dance.

The nine member group all hail from the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area-displaying a distinctive sense of cohesiveness and determination. The group has practiced and polished for more than fifteen years-nurtured by family, encouraged by friends and assured by the community that they are destined for successful musical careers. The spirit and musical philosophy of the group is engaging, fun and powerful. Inspired by the contributions of many influential and legendary rhythm and blues artists, this group has a penchant for penning powerful lyrics and all are vocally talented.

Always developing and expressing new and dynamic ideas, this group has extensive experience which includes opening for Johnny Taylor, Harvey Scales, Toni Terry, Chuck Brown, Little Sonny Warner and other major acts. They have performed at the B. B. King Club in Memphis, Tennessee, the Bayou Club in Georgetown, DC and many, many more. They placed first in the “11th Annual National Blues Talent Competition” in Memphis, Tennessee, sponsored by “The Blues Foundation“. They performed on the 16th Annual W. C. Handy Blues Awards Show in Memphis and the 10th Annual King Biscuit Blues Festival in Helena, Arkansas and are currently recording an album to be released in the very near future. With a strong sense of unity as the common denominator, The HARDWAY CONNECTION has the musical foundation for longevity and the platform to skyrocket them to success!
